Singapore — Forbes Asia has released its annual Power Businesswomen list, spotlighting 20 accomplished female leaders across 12 countries and territories. Among them are Singapore‑based executives Kuok Hui Kwong, chairman and CEO of Shangri‑La Asia, and Png Chin Yee, CFO and incoming president of Temasek Singapore. Their inclusion reflects the growing influence of women in shaping Asia’s corporate future.
Kuok Hui Kwong, daughter of Shangri‑La founder Robert Kuok, assumed the role of CEO in August 2025. She has steered the luxury hotel group through a slowdown in mainland China, its largest market, while expanding its portfolio of managed properties. Her leadership demonstrates resilience in navigating cyclical challenges while positioning Shangri‑La for long‑term growth.
Png Chin Yee, meanwhile, has played a pivotal role in Temasek’s organizational restructuring. Effective April 2026, she will oversee Temasek’s Singapore‑based portfolio, which generates revenues of about S$200 billion. Under her tenure as CFO, Temasek recorded a record net portfolio value of S$434 billion, underscoring her financial acumen and strategic foresight.
The list also features leaders from diverse sectors, including banking, consumer goods, transportation, and technology. Notably, more than half are professional managers, while three are first‑generation entrepreneurs. This diversity highlights the evolving pathways through which women are reshaping Asia’s corporate landscape.
For regional observers, Forbes Asia’s recognition underscores a broader trend: women leaders are not only breaking barriers but also redefining governance models across industries. Their success stories serve as case studies in resilience, innovation, and adaptability, offering inspiration for the next generation of executives in Asia.
