Jakarta — Thirty‑four Indonesian women have been honored with the Women in SDGs Action Award 2025, recognizing their transformative contributions across all 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The awards, organized by Bisnis Indonesia Group, mark the company’s 40th anniversary and highlight women’s leadership in driving sustainable change.
The honorees represent diverse sectors, from poverty eradication and food security to healthcare, education, gender equality, and climate action. Figures such as Veronica Colondam (YCAB Foundation), Caroline Riady (Siloam Hospitals), Najeela Shihab (Sekolah Cikal), and Susi Pudjiastuti (Susi Air) exemplify how women leaders are reshaping Indonesia’s social and economic landscape.
The ceremony also featured a panel discussion titled Women and Independence, with prominent voices including Rahayu Saraswati Djojohadikusumo, Alissa Wahid, Marcella Zalianty, and Lucia Karina. Their dialogue emphasized the importance of female agency in strengthening communities and advancing national resilience.
Minister of Women Empowerment and Child Protection, Arifah Fauzi, praised the awardees as agents of change. She noted that women today are not confined to domestic roles but are central to social, economic, and environmental progress. “Every small step taken by women, from villages to cities, contributes to the larger movement toward sustainable development,” she stated.
The recognition underscores Indonesia’s commitment to integrating gender equality into its sustainability agenda. By honoring women across all SDG sectors, the awards highlight the intersection of leadership, innovation, and humanity in building a more inclusive future.
Ultimately, the Women in SDGs Action Award 2025 is more than a celebration of individual achievement. It is a collective affirmation that women’s leadership is indispensable for achieving sustainable development, not only in Indonesia but across the ASEAN region.
