BNI won six Digital CX Awards 2026, underscoring Indonesia’s progress in digital banking and offering valuable insights into customer-centric financial innovation across Asia.
As Asia continues to accelerate its digital economy, financial institutions are under increasing pressure to deliver banking services that are not only technologically advanced but also deeply centered on customer experience. Across the region, digital transformation has become a strategic imperative rather than a competitive advantage. Against this backdrop, PT Bank Negara Indonesia (Persero) Tbk (BNI) has earned international recognition after receiving six prestigious honors at the Digital CX Awards 2026, reinforcing Indonesia’s growing role in shaping the future of Asian banking.
Presented by The Digital Banker during an awards ceremony at ParkRoyal Collection Marina Bay, Singapore, the Digital CX Awards recognize financial institutions that successfully combine innovation, customer-centric strategies, and operational excellence. BNI secured six awards, including Best Digital Bank for CX – Indonesia, Best Wholesale/Transaction Bank for Digital CX – Indonesia, Best Digital CX – Account Opening and Customer Onboarding, Outstanding Digital CX – Corporate Banking App – Indonesia, Outstanding Digital CX – Payments and Collection Services – Indonesia, and Outstanding Digital CX – Cash Management Platform.
Beyond the awards themselves, BNI’s achievement reflects a broader policy and economic trend unfolding across Asia. Governments and regulators throughout the region have actively encouraged financial institutions to accelerate digital adoption, strengthen financial inclusion, and improve the resilience of payment infrastructure. Customer experience has consequently become a critical indicator of how effectively banks translate technological investments into tangible public and business value.
According to Okki Rushartomo, Corporate Secretary of BNI, the recognition demonstrates the bank’s commitment to building modern, integrated corporate banking services capable of adapting to the evolving needs of businesses. He emphasized that digital transformation remains a long-term strategy focused on delivering relevant solutions while continuously enhancing service quality for customers across all segments.
A significant contributor to BNI’s success is BNIdirect, the bank’s integrated digital platform for corporate banking. The platform enables businesses to manage payments, collections, liquidity, cash management, and other financial operations through a single digital ecosystem. Such integrated transaction banking services are increasingly becoming the industry standard across Asia, where corporations demand faster, more secure, and more efficient financial management solutions.
BNIdirect’s business performance further illustrates this momentum. As of 31 December 2025, the platform had attracted 6,613 corporate customers, processed more than 388,000 transactions, and generated transaction values reaching approximately IDR 15.39 trillion. These figures demonstrate the growing confidence of Indonesian businesses in digital banking while reflecting wider digitalization trends across the Asian financial sector.
For policymakers and financial analysts, BNI’s accomplishment provides insight into how digital banking is evolving beyond mobile applications. Today’s transformation encompasses integrated transaction ecosystems, intelligent cash management, API connectivity, cybersecurity, and personalized customer engagement. Banks capable of combining these capabilities with regulatory compliance and operational resilience will likely play a greater role in supporting regional economic growth and cross-border commerce.
Looking ahead, BNI plans to continue expanding its digital capabilities, strengthening its corporate banking ecosystem, and delivering sustainable value through innovation. As Asian financial markets become increasingly interconnected, achievements such as the Digital CX Awards 2026 demonstrate how institutions from emerging economies are contributing to regional financial development while earning international recognition for service excellence.
