President Prabowo Subianto was officially awarded the Darjah Kerabat Johor Yang Amat Dihormati Pangkat Pertama (D.K I Johor) on January 27, 2025, by His Majesty Sultan Ibrahim during a formal state ceremony at Malaysia’s National Palace. The recognition marks one of the highest royal honors granted by the Johor Sultanate and is reserved for select leaders who have significantly advanced bilateral relations.
This prestigious distinction was first established in 1886 by Sultan Abu Bakar and is guided by the motto “Muafakat Itu Berkat,” or “Concord is a Blessing.” The award celebrates leadership, solidarity, and a commitment to lasting regional diplomacy — all qualities embodied by President Prabowo.
The ceremonial regalia includes a golden collar engraved with Sultan Abu Bakar’s name in Jawi and a star with nine points representing noble values such as integrity, unity, and legacy. The symbolism reflects the deep-rooted traditions of the Johor royal family and their vision of cross-border harmony.
Joining the ranks of notable recipients like President Soeharto, Sultan Hassanal Bolkiah, and King Hamad bin Isa al Khalifa, President Prabowo’s inclusion reinforces Indonesia’s pivotal role in Southeast Asia’s diplomatic architecture.
The conferment is more than a personal accolade — it stands as a beacon of strengthened relations between Indonesia and Malaysia. It paves the way for deeper cooperation in trade, security, and cultural engagement within the ASEAN framework.
