Sandiaga Opens Up about the Future of Aguan’s Hotel in IKN

In a candid disclosure, Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy (Menparekraf) Sandiaga Uno provided insights into the progress and fate of the development of Aguan Cs’s Nusantara Hotel in the National Capital (IKN). Through an official post on his Instagram handle @sandiuno, Sandiaga Uno was seen inspecting the ongoing construction of tourism and creative economy support facilities in IKN Nusantara, including a direct examination of the Nusantara Hotel.

“After evaluating various tourism-related facilities, we can confidently state that, God willing, by late July or early August 2024, they will be operational, particularly the Nusantara Hotel,” remarked Sandi, on Wednesday (1/5).

“We are also ensuring that the facilities for the creative economy center, which we observed, will be operational by the same timeframe,” he added.

In addition, there are plans for training sessions tailored for micro, small, and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs). Sandi stressed that these curated MSME training programs are also in preparation for Indonesia’s 79th Independence Day celebrations in IKN Nusantara, located in East Kalimantan.

Minister Sandiaga affirmed his commitment to ongoing coordination with the IKN Authority to ensure the successful organization of Indonesia’s Independence Day celebrations on August 17, 2024. He underscored the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy’s extensive preparations, especially focusing on the tourism and creative economy sectors.

“We will liaise closely with the IKN Authority to ensure that the Independence Day celebrations on August 17 are inclusive, involving the wider community, including MSMEs and operational tourism facilities,” he elucidated in the official statement released by the IKN Authority on Tuesday (30/4).

“I have full confidence in the enthusiasm of our MSME counterparts whom we met earlier; together, we will meet our targets within the stipulated timeframe,” Sandi emphasized. The Nusantara Hotel project in IKN, which Sandi inspected, is funded by a consortium of Indonesian entrepreneurs. Spearheaded by Aguan from the Agung Sedayu Group, President Joko Widodo himself attended the groundbreaking ceremony for this project in September 2023, expressing gratitude for the Rp20 trillion contribution from these 10 entrepreneurs toward the development of Indonesia’s new capital.
