Putrajaya — The latest Indonesia-Malaysia trade forum under the Joint Trade and Investment Committee (JTIC) has opened new possibilities for cross-border collaboration between the two ASEAN neighbors.
The bilateral meeting aimed to enhance economic ties, streamline investment policies, and encourage stronger engagement from the private sector in sectors like digital economy, manufacturing, and infrastructure.
According to Indonesian Ambassador to Malaysia, Hermono, the forum is a vital platform to translate the long-standing partnership into tangible results. “Indonesia-Malaysia trade is more than diplomacy—it’s about delivering real outcomes for businesses and people on both sides,” he emphasized.
JTIC is positioned as a strategic tool to future-proof both economies, especially in times of global uncertainty. The committee also explored joint efforts in agriculture and education, where synergy is considered mutually beneficial.
With trade between the two countries reaching billions annually, the reinforcement of Indonesia-Malaysia trade cooperation is expected to accelerate regional resilience and integration within Southeast Asia.
